Vincent Zhu is a creative technologist and artist with a background in computer science and film photography. Vincent is currently the technical assistant at Boston-based interdisciplinary artist collective, MASARY Studios.

He merges his background in photo with technology and research to craft immersive experiences blending visuals, sound and tangible objects. He explores how built / digital environments transform natural environments and reshape perception, while investigating the interplay between AI comprehension and human expression.

About

I’m currently working at MASARY Studios as technical assistant, with artists and engineers, creating interactive multimedia art with light & sound using emerging technology; developing instrument, device and software system through research in art & computer science, including:

• Generative visual & sound.
• Building interactive visual & sound with custom audio and visualization system, with real world data; using softwares like Max and Touchdesigner.
• DMX lighting control system for designing and managing large scale public art lighting.
• Designing software systems to manage real-time data streams, deployment, security and monitoring for our artworks.
• Research and build our custom hardware MIDI control interface using Teensy microcontroller; embedded audio programming.
